Shop Update..

I'm busy, busy, busy.  This time of year always catches me off guard.  It's that pre-season rush and I'm working as quickly as possible to stock up my shop & fulfill pending orders.

I'm thankful I love what I do and am blessed to be able to be at  home with my kids.  Praise God!

I added a few new pieces today and have several more to add tomorrow.  Later in the week, I'll be adding more "welcome" signs to my shop...the few I had sold out the first day.  Thank you!!

My Virtual Dream House

Let me give you a tour of my virtual dream house.

My open dining area, (though I'd change the rose wall to a natural earthy orange)...
Eclectic kitchen-diner

which connects to my family room...
Retro-style loft

and into the study...
Relaxed kitchen diner

Here's the master bedroom...
Dark and cosy

Which houses my dressing table...
Eclectic dressing table

and of course, my closet...yes, "MY" closet...
Organised dressing room

This is my daughter's bedroom...
Purple and pewter

and my son's bedroom...
Striking stripey ceiling

Our school room (I'd replace the skull with a wall map)...
Skull and crossbones study

Thanks for joining me on my virtual dream home tour.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Welcome Home

Ahhh, Fall is finally in the air!  I'm loving the crisp cool weather & the feeling of sweaters & hot coffee.

Fall weather makes me want to fluff the nest, so to speak.

I'm adding some layers of decorative coziness to my home...

as well as to my Etsy shop.

Ceiling Tin Upcycle: Part 100+

Sometimes I wish I would have kept a tally mark for each of the ceiling tin items I've created.  I think I'd be shocked if I saw them gathered in one large room.  I have no idea how many I've made, it's all a bit of a blur.

What can I say though, I love working with this material.  The safety mask isn't the loveliest accessory in the world, but oh well.  In fact, I think it seriously scares my son a bit.  He always says "Your done now, right?  You can take off the mask now, right?"  "Right?".

This is my latest table-top memo board & picture frame.  It sits both horizontally & vertically and is perfect for pictures, recipe cards & all the little love notes!

Adorned with a vintage hardware magnet & civil war era buttons.
Sorry if you know someone who participates in reenactments, they'd probably die knowing I made them into magnets.
To each his own, right?
(now I know where my son gets it from)

Moving on...
A custom request from a client who also adores a little color.  I just can't say no to "burnt orange".

Hope you have a wonderful day!

The Anthropologie Style

Anthropologie does such an amazing job with their design & styling.  But, I think what always draws me in, is the contrast.

The contrast of muted & bold colors.

The contrast of time worn pieces and vibrant new finds.

The contrast of style.

Ooh, I want that couch!

The contrast of patterns.

It is such an invigorating eclectic style!

I think I'll stay here & rest awhile.

Weekend Outfit

Ceiling Tin Memo Boards

Got a craving?

This one makes me thinking about a square of Hershey's chocolate.

Romantic with cream & rust...

and of course a few vintage button magnets!

Can I just say OH MY?!

Love the ornate design on this chocolate rusty beauty!

All have gone through my boot camp consisting of pressure washing, further cleaning, crimping, sanding, sometimes painting, distressing & sealing for protection.  Their worn out, but it was worth the effort!

Coming soon to my shop... www.joyframeworks.etsy.com

Color Makes Me Happy

I love all things rustic and chippy, but add a little color and I'm head over heals!

It's like a ray of sunshine that just makes me sigh.

These pictures are absolutely gorgeous!  I'm suddenly feeling the urge to go create...

something colorful.

Book Page Craft Ideas

I've loved seeing all the wonderful Book Page Wreaths in blogland and decided to give it a whirl.  My dollar tree didn't have the foam wreath that many tutorials recommend so I improvised with a wicker-style wreath.  I tweaked it a little to feel like fall...

I love the way it turned out!  I must warn you these are a bit addictive.  I think I may make a 2nd one.  Maybe a 3rd?  No, I'll stop at 2.

Since I'm on the subject of Book related crafts, I thought I'd share a few that have been gracing my home.  I'm a bit obsessed with Anthropologie and love their window displays.  After being inspired by many of their book related displays....

I incorporated a few mini book settings in my home...

May you be inspired to create something warm & fuzzy for your nest.
